Overall Satisfaction with Algolia
Algolia is used as our primary search tool on www.opieoils.co.uk , providing search results primarily for products, but also matching relevant categories. Our previous search implementation was not as fast and did not allow us to tweak relevancy in the same way that Algolia does.
- Speed of displaying results
- Flexibility - can index pretty much any data and doesn't enforce any fixed schema
- Provision for merchandising / offers / "manipulation" of search results for marketing
- Lots of documentation, but hard to pull it all together
- Very focused on front end javascript; you'll need skills in this area to implement
- Merchandising could be easier to implement
- Quick and easy access to our product catalogue
- Hard to judge ROI, but customer feed back is good
Algolia offered a more flexible toolset for us, and a faster, better experience for our customers.
