Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

Competitive Intelligence and market awareness to gain insight into the Veterinary industry and product trends.
  • Wide variety of data sources
  • easy search tools with ability to save relevant searches for ongoing needs
  • notification to e-mail relevant information based on saved searches
  • Billing was a challenge, but has been corrected
  • Scale license fees to entire company usage as opposed to each department purchasing licenses being treated as a separate entity.
  • Ability to focus Company searches/notification to just those relevant to the USA
  • deeper competitive insights
  • market assessment and understanding of financial results
  • product offerings awareness

It has helps to prepare for competitive product launch and create loss of exclusivity defenses.

Searching for information on the launch of a highly competitive product and information on the Livestock Industry are both good uses of Alpha Sense. It is less appropriate for looking for a very specific bit of data, i.e. "what is the population of pet dogs and cats in the US?"

Evaluating AlphaSense and Competitors

AlphaSense Support

When Michael Barnett was our Account Manager, he provided outstanding support and training sessions. I do not feel that we receive the same level of support now that he has changed roles.

I am not aware of having purchased premium support. If not, it would have been due to budget constraints.
Michael Barnett set-up training sessions and walked me through optimizing my alerts and search operations.

AlphaSense Reliability

I don't feel that AlphaSense tries to make the product cost effective across our organization by contracting with inidividual deparments and assigning single user licenses that are not easily transferred to another employee when an employee changes teams or leaves the organization.
I find that I have to do multiple click-throughs to get to the information I wish to view when I receive and alert that is of interest.
