Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a fashion ecommerce company.
We have thousands and thousands of products in our inventory, with the use of Amazon DynamoDb it is easy and quick to fetch and insert products to the database.
Each and every information such as color, size etc is stored in the db and everything is super quick and efficient.

Pros and Cons

Scalibilty - At times of very high traffic, Amazon DynamoDB is very easily scalable
Latency is low hence product fetching and insertion is quick
As it works in Nosql model hence it is very flexible when compared to RDBS systems

Automated Backup and recovery is a complex feauture, this needs to be simple as it is one of the most important feauture
Transactions limit needs to be increased, currently it is around 20-25 unique items
Cost estimation is hard and challenging

Return on Investment

Due to low latecny, website experince for customers is smooth thus increasing the conversion rates
In sale days when traffic is high, it offers scalability due to which my website is availaible even in high traffic
Development time is low therefore reducing the development cost

Scalability

Due to its autoscalablity feauture, depending on the traffic Amazon DynamoDB can autoscale its read and write capacity.Even after scaling the performance of Amazon DynamoDB is smooth

Performance

Amazon DynamoDB provides a seemless experince, in my case it has provided a seemless expeirnce no doubt about that. Yes till now for us Amazon DynamoDB has been responsive at low and high scales, it auto adjusts it read and write queries. We have used it only in India,it works well for India, for other regions i cannot say much as i havent used it

Alternatives Considered

MongoDB

Both are Nosql db but when it comes to scalability i think, MongoDB is no where close to Amazon DynamoDB

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for applications that will handle high traffic as it is very scalable and easy to scale.
Due to its low latency, it is well suited for application that needs real time data processing like trading application.
But if, there is structured application then i would suggest them to go with Relational database approach unlike Amazon DynamoDB as it offers nosql
