Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360

We are a K-12 education school district. As members of the instructional technology department, my team and I are responsible for the design, administration, and support of a variety of training materials for our district's teachers, staff, and administrators as part of our responsibilities. Learning opportunities range from mandatory state and federal training initiatives to professional development. From in-person training offered at our training center, to presentations administered over Teams, our team supports a wide variety of learning including the development of self paced courses.
  • User interface
  • On going support
  • Web based platform
  • Software based platform
  • More support with text to speech options
  • High cost
  • Can be overwhelming at first
  • Collaborative workflow
  • Easy of use/ Web based
  • LMS integration
  • Available templates and suggested layout tools
  • community support
  • Training engagement has increased
  • More learners are using the self paced courses since they are easier to use and less buggy
  • Training has become less boring and more interactive.
When a developer is trying to build training materials it happens in two scenarios. The first is a properly planned and developed training course. This course has ample time to adjust and refine the content to make sure it meets the desired goal. The second scenario is the 'I need it tomorrow!' scenario. This second scenario has become more common in a post-covid age as rapid responses are required to train around certain issues. When comparing Articulate 360 to Captivate in both of these scenarios, it is not even a contest, Articulate 360 leaves Captivate in the dust. From the ease of use of Articulate 360 to its web-based functionality, Captivate can't even compete. The continuing updates, enhancements and training are immensely useful as I seek to continue to enhance my learning offerings

Yes

Would you buy Articulate 360 again?

Yes

We have used several different platforms to develop training materials for our staff. From PowerPoint and slides, to captivate. Articulate 360 is the most full featured product for all the options we seek to develop for. In the past, we would have to incorporate many different tools together to develop the content and graphics necessary to make our pieces of training impactful. Articulate 360 let's us do it all under one roof. The collaborative and review process makes it easy for our team to vet the training before we release them to the users.

Evaluating Articulate 360 and Competitors

Yes - We replaced Adobe Captivate as our eLearning authoring tool. Captivate was very challenging to use, had not been updated since 2019, and was often buggy and problematic to use. We sought a tool that was more adaptable to our team dynamic and had a better, easier-to-use interface that would allow us to develop content quicker and easier.

During our vetting process, we were very happy to see the collaborate options that Articulate 360 had to offer. We discovered that many other agencies in our field had already switched over to Articulate 360 and had glowing reviews of it. We were also surprised to discover the many vendors who support us were also using Articulate 360, and thus would be able to provide training support files preconfigured to use Articulate 360, which we would be able to further tailor to our needs.
Our vetting process included our entire team. In this process we evaluated two other programs by setting up trial accounts and having meetings with the developer. No other team had a product that was more polished nor more focused on the goals we had set. Were it to come up again, or should other agencies contact us for our opinion, we would give the same response and come to the same conclusion.
