Overall Satisfaction with Automox

macOS, Windows, Linux, and EC2 patching
  • Patching
  • Policies
  • API
  • Reporting functionality/features
  • Permitting users to remove stuck/pending commands
  • macOS Upgrade patching functionality
  • Patching
  • Compliance check box
  • Lots of troubleshooting (negative)
  • Implementation was tricky (everyone has a different environment and Automox support can't ensure the product is truly integrated without understanding each client's unique environment)
Automox supports macOS patching, Qualys does not

Overall patching is decent, various agent versions we've worked with for macOS/Linux have been problematic though. Occasionally macOS users fail to receive patch notifications and EC2 instances have disconnected completely from the console after being patched. The reporting options do not provide a lot of baseline information needed to troubleshoot, so we've had to get creative with custom scripts/API calls for various troubleshooting situations.
