Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

Abatement Technologies uses Avalara's AvaTax, CertCapture and Returns sales tax compliance solutions. Avalara is integrated with our ERP system (Epicor Prophet 21) and is used by our accounting department to ensure: (a) sales tax is calculated accurately, (b) returns are prepared correctly and filed in a timely manner and (c) sales tax exemption certificates are collected, validated, current and stored for reference purposes and in case of an audit.
  • Avalara Account Managers serve as strong advocates for their customers.
  • Their personnel at all levels are very knowledgeable about the solutions they offer.
  • Account Manager and Solution Specialists propose practical and cost effective solutions.
  • We run the Document Line Detail Report on a daily basis to ensure that our sales, re-billed freight and sales tax payable GL accounts reconcile with Avalara's numbers for these accounts. We would like to see this report refresh more often.
  • The implementation of Avalara's solutions provides us with a high confidence level insofar as sales tax compliance is concerned and enables us to focus on growing and operating our core business.
Our rating is based on the quality and reliability of Avalara's solutions and their consistently high level of customer support.
  • In addition to AvaTax, we use CertCapture and Returns to provide us with a higher degree of confidence that (a) exemption certificates are on file, valid, current and in conformance with states' exemption laws and (b) sales tax returns are prepared correctly and filed in accordance with the states' filing schedules.

Avalara personnel are excellent at explaining technical sales tax issues in layman's terms to help customers develop a clearer understanding of the issue(s) at hand. They suggest possible approaches to issues that arise and also provide the pros and cons of each.
