Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

We use CertCapture for handling our sales tax certificates and AvaTax to calculate tax and file our returns. This is mainly used in the accounting department but the sales tax calculation is used company-wide.
It is helping keep our sales tax certificates in order and up to date in all states.

Please take the time to help when implementation is starting. We were on hold for some time waiting for things to happen and by implementation time, we got very little help. In the end, we got it going but not before we got frustrated. We now have been using Avalara for almost a year and things are better.

It is very easy in some parts to use. Once you get the hang of things, you are in a much better place.
We are more organized and more accurate in our filing process.
Avalara is best suited in filing returns. The complexity of cert to ship to bill needs a little help. Sometimes it is a little too complex to get where you need to go when you are dealing with rush items. Sometimes, simple is better. Start with the basics. Sometimes it is a guessing game about how to make something work
