Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®

Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Onboarding Documents & Process Credentialing of Healthcare Professionals Including Protected Health Information (PHI) Performance Management Including 360 Evaluations Goal Setting/Planning & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Pros

  • Assigning/limiting access to certain areas to keep confidential information private.
  • Performance management, goal setting, collecting peer feedback.
  • Notifications for birthdays, renewals, etc.

Cons

  • More middle and back office functionality (CRM, payroll, invoicing, etc.)
  • Integrations with more platforms for middle and back office functions.
  • Better transition from ATS to employee (complete transfer of documents & communication).
  • HR functions, primarily employee documentation & credentialing, policies, etc.
  • Performance Management.
  • ATS

  • Reminders have prevented issues.
  • Reduced time wasted emails, etc.
It's fairly intuitive but could use some improvements. There are some places where it can be a little clunky but they seem to make improvements on a fairly regular basis.
We have run quite a lot of BambooHR reports over the years. It's great that they are customizable and you can run them with just a couple of clicks. Reporting features is one of BambooHRs strengths.
Much more clean and simple interface, more user-friendly, more functionality. Better remote access.

It's very well suited as an HR platform for ATS, employee documentation, performance management, etc. It's less appropriate if you're looking for a platform that covers all of your business functions in one place.

We don't have anything else in mind to replace it and rely on it for oboarding, compliance, performance management, etc...

Evaluating BambooHR® and Competitors

Yes - BlueSky - because it wasn't user friendly at all and BambooHR was more effective at meeting our needs.

Ease of use was very important coming out of using BlueSky which was not easy to use and very clunky.
Technology develops at such a rapid pace that by the time you onboard a new system it's sometimes already outdated. We were happy with BambooHR when we onboarded it but likely could have spent some time evaluating other options to compare.

BambooHR® Implementation

Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled - We all participated in the implementation so when it came time to use it, it was not a big deal as we all had familiarity.
  • Data transfer was a bit cumbersome
  • Finding placeholders for information that existed in the previous platform that didn't exist as a default in BambooHR

BambooHR® Support

I haven't worked with the support team and am not sure if we purchased premium support.
I haven't personally worked with the support team so I don't have first hand experience but I'm certain we've reached out to them and I never heard complaints about the pace or quality of service received.

Yes - It doesn't have full functionality but it works ok for what it is.
