Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp

I first used Basecamp in college and later used it in an advertising position. It was the easiest way to keep track of client projects and delegate tasks with the social media department, It's very popular with regional clients because it is the one platform that they were able to access alongside the Vegas team to stay on track.
  • Used to delegate tasks - This is so helpful for the internal agency and clients to keep track of ongoing projects.
  • Status keeper - Would refer to basecamp during weekly status meetings.
  • Built-in messaging board - You can communicate through basecamp which made it easier to keep all conversations in one place.
  • Takes time to learn - It's not as straightforward as other platforms but once you get the hang of it it's really useful, it just takes time.
  • Should be easier to create monthly or weekly reminders - To-dos have to be manually put on calendar vs having a reminder.
  • It's been pretty positive in the sense that accounts are well organized and aren't wasting their time delegating tasks.
  • It's kept projects moving faster, making way for new projects!
Basecamp is a little tricky to learn. I've used it for quite a while but I feel like there's still so much I don't know. It took me a while to learn but having used it in college definitely helped me integrate it into my work career.
I've never run into a situation where I needed support from Basecamp but I appreciate online demos on how to use it. Since it's one of my previous company's go-to platforms it was easy to find people who could show me better ways to use it. At my current company, we tried it out for a bit but it was a little harder to learn so we stopped trying (team thought it was slightly harder to use than Asana).
My previous company felt that it was an "all in one" platform because it was one place to house our documents, it has the messaging option, and it was easy to keep track of important dates through it where clients/assisting teams could see.
Having regional clients can be tricky but Basecamp kept everyone in the know. We can separate things out by campaign and it was easy having different people contributing. I also used it in college where we kept track of assignments and upcoming modules to work on.
