Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

I a lot of my time using NXT as a way of confirmation. We, as a foundation, use it specifically for a donor database, allowing us to identify certain donors to reach out to, or if we receive a distribution, we can easily apply it to the donor's account that's listed. The product allows us to store donor information securely and make modifications when needed. Raiser's Edge 7 is where all the updates are made. It's displayed through NXT. My workload, it's mainly for mailing and account updates.
  • Sufficient Donor Database/Workflow System.
  • Easily Track Giving History.
  • Prospective Donor Identification.
  • Instead of only using Raiser's Edge 7 to display realized gifts, let NXT display that as well.
  • Donor Management.
  • Giving History.
  • Being able to run a query.
  • Constituent Codes.
From what I understand in my 11 months of being with the OUF we utilize the data to create reports and those reports are then sent to those who established scholarships or endowments that help support our institution. We also utilize multiple Raiser's Edge software to help our fundraising process by obtaining accurate numbers from those reports to provide the best source of information to our donors.
  • Online Training
  • In-Person Training
Because the training demonstrated how to actually utilize the product/program. Raiser's Edge NXT has a lot of components that can be utilized to manage a donor database. There were just some things that kept it from being a 10. For example, as I was discussing with a colleague earlier, NXT doesn't feel like it was built for planned gifts. It gets increasingly hard to mark planned gifts as realized when the system wasn't built to include them.
We have and still utilize to this day, FPM (Fundraiser Performance Management) and Raiser's Edge 7 (Database Viewer). Raiser's Edge 7 is what we utilize to insert all the information that shows in NXT. I would actually prefer Raiser's Edge 7 because it gives you more of an elevated view of a donor's profile. NXT shows you the simplified version of such. FPM is used to create spreadsheets and reports for fundraising or informational purposes.

Would you buy Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT again?

Yes

RE is practically a powerhouse when it comes to the management of donor data. It's very easy to use and to track a donor's contributions and see their giving history as time goes on. I utilize it for that and for making modifications when necessary. I really like the ability to identify each donor with a constituent code, which makes it easier to pull those specific codes into reports depending on different types of information needed.
