Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

[Ceridian Dayforce is] Used by all employees in different roles.
  • Users love the mobile app
  • Benefits enrollment has been easy to set up and works well
  • Work flows are easy to control
  • Speed of initial loading of website - drives busy users crazy waiting, they are used to websites loading quickly and they do not understand why web components must be downloaded every time.
  • Recruiting is clunky and forces managers to go get their own resumes. At our company the recruiters are expected to send a manager only the ones the manager needs to deal with.
  • The user interface is not intuitive for non-computer users. Sometimes the data entry field does not show up until you mouse over it, this causes some users to wait or give up seeing that there is no place to enter their data. It is not obvious to some users that a plus sign means they should click that to add information. Drop down menus do not show until the field is clicked on, leaving some users confused. It is not obvious to users that a change in address is really adding a new address; they try to edit the current one, which we have locked out but it confuses them even though the page has instructions - if they would only read them.
  • No significant control over report formatting, pulling it into Excel to adjust the format before sending it to managers negates much of the benefits from scheduling etc. What is worse is that Ceridian had this 20 years ago, but now it is lost.
  • Sometimes it seems like Ceridian makes things hard just so they can sell you professional services. Stuff promised during implementation should not end up being billed extra for. Fixes to compliance issues should not be charged to one employer when everyone else will benefit from the improvement - how many times does Ceridian charge for the same fix? Which should have been provided in the first place. Charging for on-line training - untrained administrators just under use the product lowering the customer ROI and make it more likely they will be unhappy and look for other HCM solutions. You would think data mapping from previous Ceridian products would not have to be built from scratch every time.
  • Ah Ha portal - where good ideas go to die. When the answer already exists - tell the user how to do it rather than having them call support one at a time. When it is being adopted how about a time frame rather than making users guess if they should implement a work around or wait for the update. And really stop telling people that attendance tracking is the same as FMLA tracking/management.
  • Some but not as much as expected
Mostly good but updates often happen near federal deadlines
Not really had the impact we expected.
Back end improvements but users sometimes found the activities specific solutions better than Dayforce.
Better for larger companies, smaller companies may do better with a less complex system. Better for companies with internal programming support for XML and SQL. Better for companies who do things the way Dayforce expecte them to be done, example annual reviews.
