Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points
We Use 9000 Series AP to deliver wireless to guests, all the way to IOT Devices. We love the ease of configuring these newer APs on 9800 controllers. These APs rarely have issues and are easily configured. We can have them up and running in under 15 minutes from the initial boot.
- Fantastic coverage in dense settings.
- Ease of use to configure on newer controllers
- 4x4 mimo antennas provide great service
- Internal Antennas could be stronger
- Antennas should be expandable from base model instead of choosing a A or E
- Pricing. Cisco is price heavy, its always been.

We were able to get these APs up in a matter of minutes as we had the configurations ready. 15 minutes if you are in a hurry. which is amazing. They Easily configure your wireless to minimize downtime. The 9000 series APs have made my life alot easier when you are a one of a few techs.
Yes and No. We have upgraded from the 4400 series controllers throughout life cycles. The 9800 controller is amazing because once you have something configured you can get new APs up in minutes. All the while being secure.
Nothing compares to Cisco APs. Meraki is owned by cisco, but they are a poor mans cisco. Combined with the 9800 series controllers the 9000 series aps are unbeatable. i would recommend them to anyone, because they are easy to set up and are secure. they broadcast a long way and run forever.
