Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Routers

We use MX Meraki for our retail branch banking. We use them as easy to manage air droppable systems. With branches spread out, it's important to reduce the cost for administration and remote admin is Meraki's strength.
  • Remote Administration
  • Low cost low CAPEX
  • Easy to use interface
  • Requires internet
  • OPEX may not be best model
  • Lowered admin costs
  • More predicted costs
Compatibility was not a huge factor in Merkai selection. Other Cisco products are better positioned for that.
We don't use the Merkai MX for security.
Cisco Merkai has very good SMB capability span. Application performance is on par with other routers in this segment.
Meraki routers are perfect for branch operations.

Evaluating Cisco Routers and Competitors

Since we were implementing SD-Access for Branch deployments the Cisco Meraki evaluation was great. I'm not sure we would have done it differently.

Using Cisco Routers

Like most Routers out on the market they're hard to understand and use. Cisco has a great certification program however that can make up for this.
