Overall Satisfaction with Conductor
We generally use it for researching SEO keywords, seeing how our targeted keywords are performing, how our competitors are using keywords, and seeing what content might be helpful to create SEO-wise in the future. We had created several different dashboards for different business lines in our organization to really home in on each.
- Competitor Research (I love that we could add competitors and see what they're doing well)
- Showing us where our "wins" are, but also where we could improve (most importantly)
- Customer service and reps were always willing to jump on a call and help us find our way around
- I think it's not always the most user-friendly (but like I said, your reps are helpful)
- It was something that, during the early pandemic when cost-cutting was key, felt a bit too pricey (that said, I know you're working with us - thank you!)
- The only other thing I would say is if you're in the platform really frequently it makes sense, but sometimes if it had been a while since I'd been in, I kind of forgot my way.
- We definitely improved our search position for certain keywords, which always really exciting to see
- It also provides a clear way to show/report progress to members of the org who don't use/aren't familiar with the platform, to share our measurable successes
- Creating pointed content that makes sense (or making existing content perform better)
- No negative impact, other than costs of course
We really have only ever pulled in data from GA as far as I know. But I'd love to learn more about other integrations and places we can pull from in the future! We are moving towards having Salesforce in the future as we go to back to "normal" so maybe there's some opportunity for synergy or integration there?
A ton, it informs ways we can make our site more user-friendly and accessible, with respect to navigation, page and site content, and even our colors, alt text, etc. We especially use it to collaborate between SEO and content teams - whether it's the SEO person seeing that certain words are performing for competitors (or that we're not performing well for where we should be) and encouraging us to make content around it, or having them research keywords for a piece we already plan to write.
Explore is def my fave part of the platform. I love discovering things we can do differently or better and then taking action on it. But of course customer insights and behavior is also super important. Our demographic changes with each generation and how they're searching and finding our product will change, too.
We actually didn't use anything else as far as I know. This was the first tool like this that we tried and we liked it. Otherwise, it was doing our own research on Google and sorting out searches from what we could find. But having a tool is the ideal :)
