Overall Satisfaction with Conga Composer

We use Conga Composer for document generation within Salesforce Lightning CRM. The out-of-the-box quote generation in Salesforce was not fit for our use case so we opted for Conga as it was recommended to us by our implementation partner. We use it to generate Word-based quotes, order acknowledgement, site information requests and various other documents, as well as exporting to Excel format to import into inventory software. There is now other document generation software we need or use following implementing Conga Composer
  • Simple template creation in Word is easy
  • Managing templates is easy
  • Has an in-built SOQL query builder
  • The app itself can be slow to load in Salesforce
  • The UI of the app has a retro-feel that is not in keeping with Salesforce Lightning
  • Without Conga Composer we wouldn't be able to auto generate documents in Salesforce, the extra customisation is needed.
  • The ROI is obvious when it comes to having customised documents
  • As long as the data is available in Salesforce, it's available in Conga, and so we have no issues with it's efficiency
In 3 years I've never seen it pull in the wrong info. Some of the complexity of our quote documents means it has to be done manually but I think any document generation system would struggle with that.
We had a similar workflow before, but I certainly know that without Conga we would not be able to operate using out-of-the-box Salesforce quote docs. So it has been invaluable to our operation.

Do you think Conga Composer delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Conga Composer's feature set?

Yes

Did Conga Composer live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Conga Composer go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Conga Composer again?

Yes

Due to it's Word/Excel based templates it was relatively easy to move our old CRM templates to Conga Composer. The principles in creating templates are clear and ubiquitous across most template tools, so it's easy to learn. Sometimes more complex scenarios, like IF statements, can be difficult to achieve and certain issues I've not been able to resolve. With that said we have very few problems with the software and it does everything I expected. The only thing stopping it from being a 10 is the old-fashioned UI when generating a document, and the fact you can't create a document via drag and drop (Word & Excel templates are fine but it would be nice to have the option to create via drag and drop in the browser).
