Wonderful asset with D&B Finance Analytics.

Overall Satisfaction with D&B Finance Analytics

When our customers request credit terms with us we will use the D&B Finance Analytics (specifically Paydex, conservative credit limit, bankruptcy, liens, judgements and suits, how long customer has been in business, etc.) to help make our decision to extend or decline credit terms for the customers.


  • Suits - what kind, amount and if they are settled or are still open and pending.
  • Recommended credit limits or lack there of - more of a red flag if there is no recommended credit limit.
  • How long current management has been in place.
  • How long the company has been in business.


  • it would be really helpful if they would report the Paydex for Canadian customers.
  • It is really hard to configure new users, so we all see the same things in the same areas within the report. It would be nice if we could copy profiles from one user to another (current user to new user).
  • Improved cash flow as the customers we grant credit terms to will pay their bills in a timely manner.
  • The more/quicker the customers pay their bills the more it improves our cash flow.
It helps in our risk management. I can flag customers, and when certain criteria change, I will be notified of the change, and then I can review in D&B Finance Analytics and determine if our company should change the customer's terms or credit limit or put the customer on hold (not accepting new orders). Sometimes we can see the warning signs and stop selling to them before they file for bankruptcy. Sometimes they get bought out, and we might activate the customer based on the new owner's creditworthiness.
Depending on the information received by using D&B Finance Analytics reduces the amount of time spent sending out trade references (multiple requests are eliminated), and we will make a decision in a reasonable period of time.
At any company I have worked at, we only used D&B Finance Analytics.
Never had to use support.

The D&B Finance Analytics is great if your customer is based within the USA. Once you start looking at a company in another country (Canada), some of the information isn't reported. If you are trying to get information on a company located outside of North America, there is even less information.
