Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

Our organization uses Deputy to track hours and scheduling. It is a convenient way to track hours. Our managers have a simple time approving pay sheets. previously, we were using pay to track hours and it was an absolute nightmare. This is far and above better than what we did previously.
  • Implementation.
  • Time tracking.
  • Time approvals.
  • User interface isn't as easy as it could be.
  • Mobile app isn't perfect for a approvals.
  • Explaining/advertising new features.
  • Time saver over paper!!
  • Payroll accuracy.
  • Very affordable.
  • QuickBooks Time (formerly TSheets)
Deputy is a lot cheaper and more convenient than TSheets, at least in my experience. I paid almost nothing for Deputy ($80/year), but Tsheets would have been $1000/year for my group. Functionally, they are very similar from what I could tell. I wouldn't go with Tsheets over Deputy, just on price alone.

Do you think Deputy delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Yes

Did implementation of Deputy go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Deputy again?

Yes

It's a pretty user-friendly site, although [I feel] the UI could use a little help. It's not bad, but it's not perfect either. Once you get used to the UI it's fine, but it took me a bit. I was new to payroll anyway, so maybe that was on me and not the system.
Implementation was a breeze. If you need help, you can get it pretty easily, but most of the time, I think if you are tech-savvy enough, you can figure it out without assistance. My employees found it easy to set up too. Tracking hours became super easy after we implemented.
If you are a huge company with thousands of employees, Deputy probably won't work well for you. If you have under 100, you can make Deputy work and it is incredibly affordable. I wish it was integrated with our payroll system (GoCo), but the reporting in Deputy is easy enough that it isn't a big hassle. We are also a small team, so I imagine it could be cumbersome to have a nonintegrated solution for larger teams.
