Overall Satisfaction with DonorPerfect

We use DonorPerfect in our Development department, which is run by 2 employees, to track all donations that are made to our organization. We reconcile these donations at the end of each month to match our Accounting department. DonorPerfect addresses the issues of donor retention and makes it easy to see which donors we need to reach out to more and which donors give on a regular basis.
  • The cloud interface allows updates to the software overnight and when you get back to work the next morning there are new and improved features.
  • The amount of information you can pull for reports is incredible. Anything you enter into DP can be pulled in some report.
  • There is a DonorPerfect community where you can go to ask other users questions and get helpful tips and tricks for running reports, using DP Mobile, and much more. If you can’t find what you need within the community pages, then you can always call DP customer support to speak to trained tech support.
  • Customer support answers quickly and will email you a summary of your call when you are finished. You can keep the instructions to refer back to in the future. A newer feature is Chat Support that is also helpful for quick questions.
  • There are a bunch of reports that can run, but it isn't always easy to know which report you should use. You may need to create a calculated field and it's not always clear when that is needed or how to do it.
  • When a tribute/memorial gift is made online and the donor lists the recipient's name differently than how it appears in DP, DonorPerfect will create a whole new tribute instead of allowing the user to select the already existing tribute. When this occurs, you end up with multiple tributes for the same person, the only difference is maybe one shows the middle name and the other does not.
  • DonorPerfect could improve its search engine within the software. Sometimes when looking up an existing donor, the software will say they do not exist in the database, but they do and if another user doesn't know that then a duplicate donor account will be made on accident.
  • We are spending less money on direct mailings because we are able to see who is responding to our mailings and who we are wasting postage on.
  • We are able to sell more tickets to events with DP Mobile which raises our event profits.
DonorPerfect's mobile app would be appropriate at an event if you are selling tickets at the door and have time to put in basic donor contact information when you take their card payment if they aren't already in the database.

DonorPerfect and their mobile app would not be appropriate to quickly sell raffle tickets. Even though you can quickly take a credit card payment, you have to allow for time to enter the donor's contact information and a lot of people rather raffles move quickly.
