Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace
Dynatrace is used as our Enterprise Monitoring System. It is used throughout the organization. Our heaviest users are from our Middleware Engineering group. We use Dynatrace for monitoring applications in the cloud, for monitoring internal- and external-facing systems. We use synthetic monitoring and user monitoring. We heavily monitor cloud applications. Many of our applications are moving to the cloud.
- Proactive monitoring of potential issues/problems

- Organization of synthetic screens--unable to do edits for mass # of monitors at one time
- Less time spent troubleshooting and therefore less manpower/salary for monitoring
- Used extensively for finding root causes of issues
I have not evaluated any other monitoring products. Our company has evaluated other products that have not stacked up against Dynatrace. Dynatrace has deeper monitoring than others and provides excellent alerting capabilities. Dynatrace was selected for those features as well as the scalability of the product. Although the cost is high, the ROI makes it worth it.
Our support team for converting Synthetics from Gomez to Dynatrace was absolutely wonderful. Nicole G. has been extremely helpful and always follows-up on our issues and concerns. She was invaluable in our upgrade--always providing both technical support as well as "moral support." Our Dynatrace coach is also extremely involved in helping us become proficient Dynatrace administrators. He also follows-up on our questions and issues.

Dynatrace is well suited for monitoring cloud applications. We haven't used any mobile monitoring so I can't say how Dynatrace performs for that scenario. Synthetic monitoring is good, but could use some improvements, such as more detail in the error descriptions where possible. Also, the screen for editing all monitors at one time is not available. Monitors have to be edited in buckets of 100.

Evaluating Dynatrace and Competitors
Using Dynatrace support services to assist (and lead) the implementation was extremely important.
Yes - I'm not sure, but I think it was as follows: pre-implementation, coaching, implementation, post-implementation.
Change management was a major issue with the implementation - We need to get largest groups of users involved earlier in the process, need to require training for them.
