Overall Satisfaction with eTapestry

I implemented eTapestry at my previous organization. I researched multiple programs and eTapestry seemed the best fit for our small company. We received a lot of support in building and customizing the pages. I found the on-demand videos very helpful in training myself and was very grateful to the support team for walking me through my implementation and through the creation of my first donor letter through the system. Overall, I had a great experience with the program and the low introductory cost was a great selling point to my executive director! We also appreciated the cloud storage since our internal server system wasn't the strongest.
  • Very scaleable-- allows smaller organizations to join without a huge cost barrier to enter.
  • Very easy integration between data and fundraising pieces. Really allowed me to tailor my mailings without having to download reports and merge the data on my own.
  • Easy training- on-demand videos and instant message access to the support team make for a easy start with the program!
  • I only used the system through implementation and one mailing, so I didn't have time to discover areas for improvement.
  • Better customer service- we upgraded from a Microsoft Access database that made finding our donors difficult. eTapestry really allowed us to tap into this information and notice patterns in our donors' giving.
  • Increased efficiency- seemless integration between the system and our annual mailings made the process very speedy! The program even sorts by zip codes to account for bulk mailings!
  • It did take a while to convert because we couldn't afford for eTapestry to do the implementation for us, and as the only fundraising employee I had to manually enter all of the data out of Access.
At the organization I implemented eTapestry, I only had Microsoft Access to compare it to and there is no competition between the two. eTapestry is clearly the winner in ease of use, ability to run reports, and ability to easily train others in.

Since then, I have also used SalesForce in my current role. I find Salesforce works really well when you want to manage large donors on a one-on-one basis. But in a situation where you're managing large groups of donors through mailings and other contacts, eTapestry would still be my preferred choice.
I am not currently the decision maker at my organization and we are using Salesforce.
  • How easily transported is your data?
  • How many contacts will you manage with the system? You pay by number of accounts.
  • What is your main goal? eTapestry works best to manage groups of donors, individual donor management might work better in something like Salesforce.
