Overall Satisfaction with EveryAction

We use EveryAction to track donor, partner, and stakeholder information for our nonprofit. In addition to gifts, we track relationships, interactions (calls, emails, direct mail, personal mail, etc.) We run reports to track the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts, number of interactions, and grants and grant reporting. As a nonprofit in difficult times, EveryAction helps keep the team and our plans on track.
  • grant tracking, including reporting and interactions with funders
  • donor interactions, especially being able to blind copy emails
  • financial reporting, in about as many ways as you could want to spin numbers
  • Not able to cleanly track memorial gifts, or pull that information well
  • Getting lists of constituents in the database is awkward, and sometimes takes several tries to get the information entered just right
  • I feel like we pay for functionality we don't use, specifically advocacy.
  • Using their email engagement, last year's Giving Tuesday campaign raised $10,000 more than the previous year.
  • It has a big learning curve, and we lost a couple months of optimum productivity while we all learned the system.
  • We are able to track fundraising and donor contact with much more accuracy, as EveryAction has a Contact History report.
We had some issues in the transition. The group that was contracted by EveryAction to transfer our data was not adequate. Information was misplaced, and everything took longer than it was supposed to. However, our personal EveryAction rep was fabulous, and eventually, they made everything right, including giving us some additional time with the rep.
On the whole, EveryAction has been very responsive. When we have had errors, they usually respond within a few days, and there have not been outages that I can recall. When they need to take the system down for maintenance, they always give plenty of notice.
EveryAction has allowed us to consolidate our marketing and fundraising efforts. Now we know who has received what piece of information or email and are better able to track responses. I feel like it is moving our fundraising efforts forward.

EveryAction is a very thorough and complicated database. It is great for nonprofits who have a lot of data, donors, and need to be able to pull complicated reports. We are able to send specific, custom emails through the database to segmented audiences. It is alot. It would not be appropriate for smaller nonprofits, especially if there wasn't at least one person dedicated to be the expert.
