Overall Satisfaction with Figma

Figma is used for 3 purposes:

  1. Design System
  2. Prototyping and prototye testing
  3. Figma Jam for brainstorming and job handover

Design System:
We are responsible for mobile apps and figma is a handy place to manage all the bits and pieces.

Prototyping:
We are creating high fidelity prototypes only, since the design system allows to put together ideas very quickly. Most of the times we create even user journeys in the figma which then handed over to the engineering. In rare cases we create clickable prototypes in maze.co based on the figma deisgns, but we find it exhausting especially if it requires several iterations.

Figma Jam:
This is basically everyting else related to PM work. Business Model Canvas, Value Proposition, prioritizing, or just brainstorming ideas. The speed and smoothness is pretty cool lately. So it becomes my favorite tool slowly.
  • Speed
  • Ideas management
  • design system
  • more options in figma jam
  • more templates in figma jam
  • Design system (components)
  • Prototyping
  • free thinking (ideation)
  • High fidelity prototypes are quick
  • Users understand easily the prototypes in figma
  • Relatively a standard in the company
  • Integration with maze.com and Jira
Actually the choice was not mine, since I am a user only. I think the design capabilities was a key point here. As a PM I am rather engaged with the JAM part which is catching up with Miro slowly and more importantly providing the same quality and UX (speed)

Do you think Figma delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Figma's feature set?

Yes

Did Figma live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Figma go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Figma again?

Yes

As I mentioned previously we use it for 3 purposes. Design system, prototyping and brainstorming, etc.
The one place I see it needs improvement is the sharing. I mean sharing works great but sometimes when I want to share one frame it is not always obvious what I'll share and happened ina few cases that I accidentally shared some wrong frames in JIRA and the devs were confused.
