Overall Satisfaction with FireMon

We use FireMon to analyze and automatically manage firewall rules for our Palo Alto firewalls.

The dedicated database appliances are a bit difficult to manage and the upgrade process could use some improvements. Additionally, you can only poll performance metrics (disk space, CPU, memory, etc.) using Victoria Metrics since compatibility with SNMP has been removed. The monitoring issues make it more challenging to manage a larger environment.

Firewall Rule analyzer was used before I joined the company, but I have no experience with it.
What FireMon is good at:
- Single pane-of-glass console for unified visibility and management
- Policy standardization and automation tools simplify and decrease the time to create and deploy rules
- Preconfigured control sets and scheduling for on-demand and automated PCI-DSS compliance report generation

Room for improvement:

- Policy management for cloud vendors
