Overall Satisfaction with InVision Freehand

We use InVision Freehand all the time for easy collaboration between UX and Product. It's been a really effective tool for the easy sharing of designs. Makes our life a lot easier. After my UX counterparts post designs I typically come in and add comments. The ability for them to see and resolve those comments right in the context of the design is powerful!
  • Commenting
  • Easy Navigation
  • Quick to Load
  • Easy Sharing
  • Make it easier to share out links without complicated permission settings
  • Easy navigation
  • Easy sharing
  • Easy commenting
  • Makes going back and forth faster, saving time and money
  • Makes relationship with UX stronger, resulting in better designs
  • Makes it quick to collaborate with engineering, which makes them more effective
Really easy to pick up on for new users.
They seem quite similar in a lot of ways but I tend to slightly prefer Invision overall. Seems like it is easier to use and offers much of the same feature set. If it were up to me I'd probably just use InVision Freehand going forward and stop using Figma altogether.

Do you think Freehand by InVision delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Freehand by InVision's feature set?

Yes

Did Freehand by InVision live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Freehand by InVision go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Freehand by InVision again?

Yes

It's perfect for when I want to quickly see what designs UX has come up with and then it allows me to easily provide feedback. They can then respond to that feedback or quickly replace the UX. This sort of back-and-forth makes collaborating really easy. It's not as good at making prototypes that can go on a mobile phone without a lot of hassle.

Using InVision Freehand

25 - Generally those belonging to the Product, UX, and engineering functional areas.
1 - I'm only aware of one person who really is on point for answering questions related to InVision usage.
  • Collaboration in the early stages of UI design
  • Going over designs with engineering and resolving questions
  • Marking up existing designs to make minor improvements
  • Collecting together artifacts related to a product concept
  • Keeping some boards active and evolving them over the course of several years
  • Do talent reviews using Freehand as the whiteboard
  • We could leverage it more to refine interfaces that are already in production
  • We could leverage it more for use during interviews
  • I'd like to see it used for more low fidelity prototyping
Excellent tool and I'd like to see us continue to use it.

We were just looking for the best tool for lightweight collaboration.

InVision Freehand Implementation

We got up and going quickly.
Change management was minimal - No major lessons. It went pretty well.

InVision Freehand Support

Need to skip this question. I've never contacted support.
We did not. I don't think we really needed it.
Just helping us get set up and making sure everything was working correctly was going above and beyond.
