Overall Satisfaction with InVision Freehand

I lead design thinking workshops for product discovery. This includes problem statements, empathy mapping, and assumption mapping competitive demos. We focus mostly on using it as a collaboration tool to make sure teams are solving the right problems before moving into design and content building. It is a part of my weekly life.
  • Collaboration space for many users
  • being a place of reference for artifacts
  • easily shareable
  • Additional tool capabilities to gain parity with other whiteboard tool
  • editing text is a huge pain. Just use a size of text instead of resizing the box
  • More colors of text and post-its are needed
  • easy access
  • simple to share
  • basic whiteboarding capabilities
  • It has certainly given us a space to lead collaboration sessions we'd usually have to hire a consultant for.
  • Me being able to create multiple templates has saved my organization a ton of time when leading similar activities
  • We've been able to lead competitive review sessions we'd usually hire a third party firm for
I didn't select Invision Freehand. I have used Miro the most in the past and I feel like you are dragging behind what they offer. From my experience, their text editing tools are easier. They provide the ability to vote on activities. Attaching emojis to things actually works. The boards themselves are just a much higher fidelity and look more professional. NNG provides a ton of free templates that are only ever available in Miro.

Evaluating InVision Freehand and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
Product usability - I don't have a lot of time to sit down and teach others at the organization how to use this tool so having a tool in-place that is intuitive and simple to use is imperative for our organization. I found that Invision is a very approachable tool that most users an pick up "most" tasks with ease.
