Overall Satisfaction with Linode
Used for web, email, voice and video communications, and collaboration for all: Apache, postfix, dovecot, mumble, matrix, jitsi, Nextcloud.
- Allows for me to do what I want do, how I want to.
- For the lazy, there are very good one button servers for many common needs.
- Quite good customer service.
- Website still meh at best.
- Officially support Oracle, Red Hat, and SuSE Enterprise.
- Cheap and easy to deploy, so testing servers are a snap. Leading to a quicker/shorter beta period. Ultimately production servers are faster and easier for my organization and my customers thanks to this fact.
Linode is cheaper, more reliable, and easier than the others. Customer service is of better quality as well.
For a few dollars, I can spin up NOW a new system. That's really nice, as having local physical servers are quick, but not that quick. Nor that cheap.
Plus when done, I can just delete it and billing stops.

Much higher uptime as my team doesn't need to babysit the hardware. Their datacenter has good power, redundancies, and backup power.
Long story short, I can get away with an office without any need for a local datacenter or server room.
