Overall Satisfaction with Marketo
Marketo is one of 4 databases of "users" for the company. We use it for emailing and campaigns in marketing. It is the marketing centric user management system and we leverage Marketo's functionality to create user profiles for sales and for existing customers. We also build integrations with Marketo and our own products.
Pros
- Email templating system is really great. It makes development workflow fairly easy and the end users rarely have issues.
- Forms. In marketing we have moved entirely to depend on Marketo forms and the API is excellent.
- APIs. The REST API in particular is quite good.
Cons
- The reporting interface and methodology are insufficient. There is a lot of good data in our instance but the only way to get good data is via the API, which then requires an enormous amount of work to make it relevant and presentable.
- Logging capabilities are limited to Marketo support. It is hard to debug issues and support tickets need to be filed where we could probably fix the issue ourselves.
- Speed of the UI. It takes a long time to navigate between sections of the product and to load lists etc.
- General UX of the product is messy.
- Positive: Efficiency gains for the whole team.
- Positive: Agility in making changes to things like form data and using APIs to update users.
- Negative: Buggy UI, slow load times cause frustration with users.
Far more useful and thorough service.
