Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is used at my organization basically to manage our communication with platform users and to coordinate our lead generation activities from the Marketing team. We use the platform to create and send all of our external email campaigns (eventually we use it for internal emails too), but also to host our landing pages where we distribute content marketing resources. It is also used to standardize information on our Salesforce.

Our main goal using Marketo is to drive growth through lead generation, so it is really a good fit as it allows us to have all the assets and automation in one place in order to do that. We host our resources on Marketo, manage email communications via Marketo, receive and respond to lead inquiries from it, and everything that it takes to support our Sales team on closing deals.
I think that Marketo and HubSpot are pretty similar regarding the features available, they both are very robust and reliable platforms that can be used for lead generation, marketing automation, and other marketing/sales activities in general. The point that really differentiates them to me is the interface design: HubSpot looks like a well more modern platform than Marketo only by the way it looks and feels.
I think that cost is a major factor to consider when analyzing Marketo for your organization, and probably small companies won't have the budget nor the professionals that it takes to make proper use of the platform. Despite that, I think that Marketo is a really robust and solid software to use for your CRM activities and for marketing automation in general.
