Overall Satisfaction with NAKIVO Backup & Replication

We use it to backup our entire ESXi servers datacenter as well as our physical servers and CIFS folders across 10 branches. We also use it to backup office 365 data. In addition to those we use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to replicate our VMs in our disaster recovery continuously as well as to perform test regularly for failover scenarios. We also use it as an monitoring system for our infrastructure like is a VMServer has an outage we are getting alerted by NAKIVO Backup & Replication mail. Finally NAKIVO Backup & Replication helped us having a good picture of our backup strategy

we had Veeam before purchasing NAKIVO Backup & Replication back in 2019. Veeam was too complicated for us and needed agents to operate. Also the price was higher than that of NAKIVO Backup & Replication. Meanwhile NAKIVO Backup & Replication is agentless. It uses SSH to connect to the transport VMs that take the backup. The connection to the transporter is also secure. This automatically creates a smaller attack surface to your critical machines as agents can get compromised. this is something that is great if you are in the financial industry like us. Also i have to say it. The NAKIVO Backup & Replication support team is super friendly and super good. They always respond within an hour at max.

Where NAKIVO Backup & Replication Shines is on Daily backup schedule with copying to different locations. If you want to implement a 3-2-1-1 backup strategy plan (Local - Copy to DR - Copy to Tape - Copy to Cloud). It is also strong on failover scenarios (Main site to DR Site) Now it could have a better backup planning schedule, more flexible like option to run this backup every 7 minutes and also the ability to keep specific date backups. Also the alerting is far behind other vendors

Using NAKIVO Backup & Replication

3 - We have 3 users of nakivo backup and replication in our company. Im in the it administrator role which i implement and maintain the solution with upgrades, regular updates and new deployments. As for the other two persons, the one is an IT engineer which has less privileges than the administrator but is responsible to overview the job completion and the last guy has only read only privileges and serves as the CISO in the company.
1 - As the in house support of nakivo backup and replication we only have 1 employee , the it administrator. The skills needed for this job is good knowledge of Linux administration, good knowledge of Networking principles like TCP IP, very good knowledge of virtualization platforms and physical machines like VMware and Windows Server and finally a good understanding of the business needs of the company

A nice example is a problem i had with my recovery speeds. Nakivo support team help me identify the problem and i finally reached 5Gbp/s instead of 1Gbp/s
