Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Nintex Process Platform to identify issues in backoffice workflows but also in worflows which are used by our engineers. These are timeconsuming adminstrative processes which we want to automate for the most part. With the use of the Nintex platform we are able to check where we can enter information by hand only once in the whole process or even better where we can use information from other resources without manual entries.

We have reduced a great number of paper trails by the use of NIntex processes
With the use of workflows we can automate the filled in forms by the business

Usability

It is a very good product but the way that Nintex is promoted by Nintex states that business employees can do all of the work themselves. In practice we see that there are employees needed with a certain deal of IT knowledge and basic process modeling knowledge. Therefore this rating.

Integrations

We have integrations with SAP and interfacing with other applications who process documents from SharePoint and then Nintex can perform actions on these documents to enhance or enricht them with extra information.

Yes we have due to the connections with SAP we have allready seen benefits in the workflow of processing workorders in the field and the further processing of workorders in backoffice departments.

Alternatives Considered

OutSystems

We use OutSystems for other processes in our operation but we see that this platform is not able to indentify processes when drawed. Besides that OutSystems requires some basic development knowledge to use it. This makes it not really useable for business units.

Nintex is best suited when processes are drawed by the business and then can be furter enhanced by IT professionals. When only used by business units we see that there are some lose ends in processes and some bagic process knowledge is needed. Therefore it is wise that the persons in the business who will use Nintex have some basic knowledge on how to set up business processes.
