Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

Our company uses Paycor in every department. It is used to track hours and benefit time for each employee, and each employee has the ability to view their information and pay stub history. They are also able to view historical tax information on their W2s. HR and Accounting are the most active users. We keep all employee contact information in Paycor and process payroll biweekly.
  • Support is quick and friendly.
  • Processing payrolls is easy with the editable grid.
  • The timekeeping module is easy to use.
  • Setting up deductions can be difficult. We had one that they could not figure out how to make work.
  • Editing the GL report is a tedious process.
  • The reporting functionality seems limited and difficult to use.
  • Having Paycor process saves us time and money. We do not currently have anyone on staff that has the skill set to calculate payroll.
  • It gives us a centralized spot for storing employee data.
  • It frees up time for our HR employee to focus on other tasks.
Our HR and/or payroll team has saved 1-25 hours per month. - By using Paycor, or Human Resource Manager is able to focus on other tasks, and not get bogged down in the details of payroll. The Finance team is also not having to calculate taxes for multiple states, add up time sheets or cut manual checks each payroll period. Paycor handles all of those tasks for us.
Most of the functions in Paycor are easy to learn and use. The reporting seems to be difficult to use. Some of the standard reports are pretty much useless and others are difficult to edit to make more useful. Maybe some companies use more of the reports, but I honestly try and stay away from it.
Paycor stacks up pretty well compared to ADP and Paylocity. ADP was very good and had a solution for everything, but the customer service was lacking and it was very expensive. I can see ADP being a better fit for large companies that were looking for more of a full service HR and payroll program. Paylocity was also very good and cheaper than ADP. The service we had from them was great. Paycor, for the price, is a good fit for our company. When I started at this company, Paycor was being used and I have not seen a reason to make a change.
It is good for a business our size. There is enough functionality for what we need without a bunch of extra bells and whistles that we don't need and would not want to pay for. I'm not sure how it would be in a large company. Some of the processes might be too time consuming once a company was larger.
