Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise is used across the whole organization as our full-service accounting suite. We use it for general accounting, job costing, budgeting, sales forecasting, and expense management.
- Robust options for reporting: if there's information I need, there's a good chance one of the built-in reports can provide it.
- Comparison of current year to previous years: Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise makes it easy to see prior years' information right next to the current year's data, and offers some basic analysis by default.
- Bank feeds can be somewhat clumsy.
- Updates sometimes drastically change the look of the Quickbooks interface, and that can be challenging.
- ROI is enormous; before using Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise, we had no idea what our COGS were. So we just assumed we were profitable; Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise allowed us to calculate COGS accurately and adjust certain operations to increase profit.
- Aside from the money aspect, it's a huge relief to have access to useful information, and Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise allowed us that access and made it easy to decipher the data.
Microsoft Dynamics SL is a robust accounting suite that I've used at other companies, but it's just too complicated for use in a small business. The configuration requirements are too burdensome for a small company that may not have a full-time IT department and accounting team.
