Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
I am an account administrator and help other businesses use QuickBooks Desktop (QBD). Is a standard GL under the Intuit umbrella. I would recommend QBD over any other desktop GL software, but would highly recommend the use of an online (cloud) based software for any GL. In my opinion, QBD is being phased out by Intuit and will probably not exist in 5-10 years due to the low demand and lack of effort put towards it.
Pros
- Expense tracking
- Excel output
- Profit and Loss statements
- Job profitability tracking
Cons
- Bank reconciliations
- speed of processing
- overall interface
- Allows business owners to view their profitability
- Allows the tracking of receivables to ensure timely receipts
- tracking of payables to ensure timely payments
Quickbooks Desktop is a dinosaur and should not be considered for any business expecting to expand or grow their operations. It has very limited usage and any company looking to not remain stagnant should consider cloud based software rather than anything that strictly works on the desktop of a computer.
QuickBooks Desktop is not difficult to implement, but that is more than likely due to its lack of options or abilities that would be available as options to apply in a cloud based software. The payroll function is not difficult to put together and inputting each one of your employees and their information is not difficult.
Not in a large way in comparison to QuickBooks Online.
