Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
We implemented QuickBooks Enterprise in 2007 and have been using it since. It is a much less complicated system than what we had in place before which allowed us to train employees quicker and have easier access to financial data as well as automation from our retail channels with the use of an additional app.
Pros
- Easy Sales Order Entry
- Quick access to financial data
- Easy to use with an intuitive interface
- Very quick learning curve
Cons
- Better reporting; the advanced reporting tool is also difficult to use.
- Multi-level BOM's could be better, specifically for rolling up costs and printing multi-level BOM's.
- Planning and Budgeting modules could use some improvement.
- Good value for the price. The initial setup was quick and easy.
- When properly set up and processes are followed it's decent at managing inventory which is something we had problems with. Have to have a dedicated employee to builds.
- Rolling up costs in multi-level BOM's is a project each time we have to review costs, it's very time consuming to manually update all assemblies.
Our company has been up and down since we first switched to QuickBooks, but QuickBooks has been easy to scale anytime we had to add or decrease employees. Our product line has not drastically changed over the years, but have done a lot of cleanup to make sure that inventory is properly tracked.
Implementation was quite easy, we had everything set up and in place within a couple of months and went live January 1st 2007. QuickBooks is very intuitive to use so training has been very easy. New employees are comfortable using QuickBooks within the first few days. Our biggest mistake was not having a great plan for our items and BOM's going into the implementation, so as years went by we had to fix and adjust things to make QuickBooks work best with our products. Overall, it was a very easy implementation and training was quick.
Training is quick and painless. It's the easiest part for any new hires who have not used Quickbooks before. The easy point and click and intuitive interface make QuickBooks one of the quickest pieces of software to train on.
