Overall Satisfaction with Rackspace

Rackspace is being used to host many of our servers and databases. It is not being used by our whole organization because we are working on switching over to AWS. Rackspace used to be great and reliable but has slowly been less and less reliable. Rackspace has been great at building new servers and customizing them which has been great as we are building out more machines.
  • Easy to build out new servers.
  • Can pre-install a few different flavors of Linux.
  • Easy to use UI.
  • Fewer outages would be great.
  • Work harder on improving their product and its reliability. No outages is the only acceptable goal.
  • Rackspace has done great in the past in keeping our data and servers up and running.
  • Recently there have been more and more frequent outages and errors.
  • Amazon AWS
AWS is more and reliable and will work better for our organization from now on. Rackspace has served its purpose but is a slowly dying service. I will still happily give them kudos where it is deserved and they did great in their prime. Amazon is slowly taking over and edging everyone out and you need to jump ship at some point if you want to keep up.
Rackspace has been a great service but it is almost like they are slowly giving up on their product but would still happily help support you when you move over to AWS. It seems almost as if they are pushing you off their servers and then offering their business to help you once you are running your stuff off AWS.
