Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We are currently using Sage Intacct as an ERP for financial accounting purposes. The whole organization does not use it, however we intend to connect it to other departments via integrations (e.g. Salesforce, Expensify, etc.). It addressed a problem that we had inadequate financial reporting as we were previously on QuickBooks Online.
  • The implementation process went very smoothly, and we were assigned a very knowledgeable internal implementation consultant.
  • The interface/UI is clean and relatively navigable.
  • Intacct provides a lot of third-party integrations to other systems that organizations are likely to employ.
  • While Sage is in the middle of updating the UI, there are still a few modules that are on the old UI.
  • Some modules are not fully integrated into the main product, and therefore there is a delay when porting information between the module and the main product.
  • Some aspects of common workflows are a little unintuitive and perhaps more complicated than they need to be.
  • We are now able to produce more detailed financial reporting to management, and are now working our way toward being able to have a budgeting and forecasting process, which we did not previously have.
We have definitely benefited from Intacct's integration with our AP system, Bill.com. It has definitely cut down on data entry needs. In addition, the intercompany journal entry functionality has proven very useful so far.
We have used multi-entity and global consolidations. We are happy with it so far, however managing multiple levels can be a little confusing at times. It has to do with the fact that the "Top Level" is almost treated as a separate entity as the various "children", which is something we've had to get used to.

We also use contract revenue management. Especially due to ASC 606, it has been super helpful so far, as ASC 606 calculations for software companies like ours are almost too complicated to do manually in Excel.
We had a super easy integration with Bill.com that took only a few hours to get up and running (not counting a little troubleshooting as we got used to it). Our implementation manager has managed all of our integrations so far and has made our lives very easy in that regard.
We ultimately believed that Sage Intacct was a better fit to our needs at this time and for future growth.
Sage Intacct is very appropriate for companies that are growing and need an ERP that can scale with them. It is early in our usage of it, but I would say it may not scale as well for multi-location or international companies.
