Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We have just started the implementation process with Sage Intacct. We were very impressed with the product's features and capabilities. Sage Intacct will address many business problems, including the following: better and quicker reporting, getting data in and out of the accounting system in a much faster way, automating our purchase order system (currently being done manually), fixed asset management system (also being done manually at this time).
  • Reporting: endless possibilities for custom reports.
  • Insight into the system by department leaders/budget managers: giving our budget managers quick and easy visibility to their individual budgets is critical for our organization
  • Purchase order system: another critical feature in Saga Intacct, which will allow us to automate the purchase order process and be able to better track budget vs. actual prior to purchases being made.
  • Easier to use the reporting feature
  • Efficiencies: Sage Intacct will add capabilities within our department and allow us to automate processes that are now done manually.
  • Cost-benefit: There will be a cost-benefit of the time saved from our staff by adding efficiencies noted above (i.e., automating processes, importing vs. manual entry, etc.)
We have not integrated any automation within our core financial processes, but we plan to start with accounts payable.
We plan to use the project accounting and contract revenue management functions within Sage Intacct. We are a nonprofit organization and need to track earned revenue/contributed revenues and expenses by department and program. Currently, contract and revenue management requires a significant amount of manual work outside of the general ledger system. Sage Intacct will certainly help create a stronger system for revenue management.
We have just started the implementation process and are already seeing how easy it is to integrate Sage Intacct. We are beginning the implementation process by reconstructing our chart of accounts and building out other core functions within the system (AR, AP, budgeting, etc.). We have found that Sage Intacct is relatively user-friendly, and we have great consultants that are assisting with the process.
I used MIP Fund Accounting at my previous employer, and MIP Fund was a system that we recently when embarking on the journey to find a new accounting system. In my opinion, Sage Intacct is a much more cutting edge system with better functionality than MIP Fund Accounting. While MIP Fund would have been a good fit for our organization, we believe Sage Intacct will have a much stronger impact on our day to day functions within the system.
Sage Intacct is well suited for non-profit organizations. Many non-profits have various sources of funding and need to track revenue and expenses by each revenue source or the programs that are funded by these revenue sources. Sage Intacct can track and report on these in a very comprehensive way.
