Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We upgraded our local accounting software to Intacct 4 years ago. We were looking for a software that provided more functions and usability and Intacct has provided that for our company. The features have been a great fit for our company and the accounting team has enjoyed using the software. it is helpful that our IT department can assist in customizing the standard features provided to best suit our company needs.
  • The menu is organized in a way that is effective for the different functions of accounting. The applications are broken out by function such as Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Order Entry, Accounts Receivable, etc.
  • The reporting functions for each application are very useful. There is also the ability to create custom reports to fit a specific need, which has also been helpful.
  • Sage Intacct releases new features multiple times throughout the year to create better functionality for customers. It is nice that they are invested in keeping the software up to date and easy to use.
  • The Fixed Asset module is out of date. While some of the other applications do feed into it, the credit card transaction upload that we perform does not feed over to the account and requires a manual asset creation if necessary.
  • Some programs do not feed over to Sage Intacct. For instance, we have had two payroll providers where the general ledger from payroll does not upload the Sage Intacct and is therefore a manual entry. We do not mind since we often have one off situations where we have to adjust accounts, but for some this may create more work. In addition, we do not have our bank transactions feed over either. This requires an upgraded charge to Intacct and we did not see it fit for our company at the time. Again, not something we mind, but might be a pain point for others.
  • The recent price increase for Intacct has not helped our ROI.
  • The simplicity of entering payments from customers and completing the deposit has increased our productivity and cut down on the time it previously took.
  • The import function for Journal Entries, WIP items, and AP bills has reduced the amount of time spent manually entering line items and instead allows for a CSV upload.
We use the accounts payable automation for our monthly rent payment. It is scheduled to create the bill monthly on the first so we never miss the payment.
We use project accounting to manage the different projects that our expenses go to. For instance, if the Professional Learning department or Sales team is travelling to a customer or trade show, we create a project for this visit and track the expenses that have went toward it. Our marketing team also uses the projects to track where their contractors are spending their time.
While I was not entirely involved in the configuration of Intacct, I do know that we were able to configure Sage Intacct with a lot of our internal developers. We also paid a consultant from Intacct to help us with some of the features of Intacct. Within 6 months, we felt comfortable to use the system on our own.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

The order entry application allows our company to have our sales operations department input the order and mark it as "ready for accounting" so that accounting can review the order and create an invoice if everything looks good on the order. Intacct communicates with our "back office" once the invoice is created, which creates a seamless process as long as there are no sync errors. Our company provides digital subscriptions and we just recently introduced physical products. The inventory module that Intacct provides at an upgraded cost did not meet our companies needs at this time.
