SAP HANA is being used by us in developing various analytical solutions leveraging the powerful real-time, in-memory features of SAP HANA. Its parallel processing feature helps us to load data from production systems in real-time or hourly delta loads from SAP ERP H4 HANA system. We are using SAP HANA as a sidecar backend for reporting analytics in P2P, AP, O2C, and retail customer data.
- Complex calculation.
- In-memory.
- Column tables faster as compare to traditional systems like Oracle and MS SQL SERVER.
- Easy to use graphical UI.
- Easy connection to most of system.
- Some restriction as compare to MS SQL SERVER, some of standard SQL features not supported in SAP HANA like CTE.
- Costly.
- Real-time and parallel data process capability is amazing.
- Column oriented data storage in tables provide it to use less table size and speed.
- Learning [SAP] HANA is [very] easy as [it] supports most Standard SQL features.
We selected it because it has the most powerful processing, faster calculation, real-time, and security.
