Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor

I used SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor to monitor traffic across my entire organization; it polls all of my Cisco routers so I can measure traffic on my WAN segments as well as my primary ISP circuit. I used it to address slowness or congestion and to look for root cause of traffic issues.
  • It presents a nice graphical format of traffic data making it quick to recognize and analyze data.
  • It breaks down data by location quickly and easily.
  • The application is buggy.
  • It is a resource hog.
  • The application itself is slow to respond and react.
  • The application became so challenging to manage, constantly causing OS issues and needing constant reboots that we quit using it.
  • It convinced us to look for better monitoring tools.
We no longer use SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor as it was too difficult to keep it running. It constantly locked up and needed attention. The Cisco Meraki hardware has built in reporting and monitoring that is far superior to SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor.
I cannot think of any. We were full deployed with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor but it was so problematic to manage we simply turned it off.
