Overall Satisfaction with Submittable
We use Submittable to gather and review grant applications. It allows us to have a secure platform to communicate with applicants, send documents, and we can easily search applications using many different criteria.
Pros
- We can receive documents from applicants in a secure way without having them be downloaded to our computers.
- Submittable emails you directly when someone emails through the platform which is extremely helpful.
- Submittable allows us to have many different forms on file to easily send.
Cons
- It would be nice if you could send an email through the platform and attached a certain application to an email not listed on the application.
- I wish you could change the search within applications rather than just by the applicant's name.
- I wish you could have different file folders where you could put applications to separate them after they are complete.
- It has saved us so much time because applications can be easily reviewed.
- It has allowed us to monitor applicants - making sure replies are done in a prompt manner.
- Occasionally emails with attachments are lost in the system which can increase the number of email communications.
It has allowed us to have more timely communications because we can send out emails quickly and easily. Also, it notifies us when communication occurs so they are not missed.
Submittable is more secure and the data is easier to track and find.

Using Submittable
6 - Submittable helps us process applications for financial assistance. It also helps us review the applications and a team. Lastly, Submittable gathers banking information in a secure way so we can quickly pay our grantees and not have to have them email us or give us bank information over the phone.
2 - We do not have anyone formally to support Submittable in-house. Honestly, we run into very few problems with it. However, we do have two teammates who answer applicants questions regarding Submittable. Most of it is questions regarding questions and not the website itself.

Evaluating Submittable and Competitors
Yes - Submittable replaced Monday.com. We replaced Monday.com because we were using it in a way that it was not supposed to be used. We wanted a website/platform where all the steps of an application were in one place.

The most important factor was ease of use. We wanted a website that was easy for applicants to use, but also easy for us to edit. Additionally, with Submittable we are able to look at statistics and timeframes which was important to us.
I would not change my evaluation process. We choose a website that is highly suited to our needs.

Change management was minimal - We did have to change management slightly during the implementation, but because Submittable needed less management than our previous platform, it was easy.

Yes, the product was super easy to learn without training. I would recommend this method if you are someone who picks up on intuitive technology easily. I was proficient in it in less than a day.

Yes, we were having trouble logging into our account. Submittable was able to help us that day and fix our problems so we did not get behind in our work!
