Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

We used TeamViewer as a replacement for VNC. The server client was install on every laptop company-wide. This enabled myself and the rest of our IT staff to remotely support and manage our users in a very effective way.
  • An install-free client
  • A saved list of connections
  • High quality connects, free of lag
  • Fantastic interface
  • The interface for fileshareing isn't up to the standards of the rest of the app
  • Immediate, simple remote support = more confidence in my team to do our jobs
  • Knowing that getting support is so simple with TV removes a barrier from my customers to ask for support.
Here are 3 MAJOR competitors we looked at and some reasons we choose not to use them

VNC - requires you to be on the same network. Poor compression and performance
Go To My PC - requires a fair amount of user support. Not headless
Remote Desktop - requires same network. Not cross platform. Featureless.
I will continue using Teamviewer because its the best blend of features, performance and ease of use on the market, I have seen to date.
There are several versions of the product. Here is how I use them:

Quick support - when someone needs remote support like a friend or family. I give them the URL, the tell me the partner ID and password thats generated and I'm in. Simple.

Server - All systems I manage, both personal and professional run the client. That way at any time I can connect.

Full client - This is installed on all systems I use. This allows me to view my saved list of systems running the server as well as connect to the Quick Support client.
