Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks

It is used across the whole organization whether it is OSS or BSS or enterprise or even in infrastructure level. And it was implemented more than 10 years ago. It connects seamlessly more than 100 external applications with more than 300 interfaces to integrate their business flow. It is one of the most stable products from TIBCO along side TIBCO EMS.
  • It can integrate any two applications irrespective of their technical adaptability. There is generally nothing to worry about, and work should continue in the same way, leaving the complexities of the integration to TIBCO BusinessWorks.
  • It is very easy and fast. From the designer where it's developed, and then the deployment in administration, every thing is so easy and fast.
  • It works well in all development models, whether it is waterfall or agile or scrum.
  • It has a enormous list of plugins available, so it is most suitable for modern age integration. In fact, I would rate this as the number one integration software.
  • Error Handling: Most of the error handling, we have to customize, as the default error handling (generate error, catch) is very basic. These palettes have to be improved, so that we can do less customization.
  • Python is very popular and is used extensively used in a lot of organizations, it would be good if BW had a Python palette out-of-the box, just like Java.
  • Same for NoSQL (like Python)
  • Fast Transactions, so high performance
  • Easy to use, reuse or enhance.
  • Easy to migrate from one version to another (unless it's not BW6)
The level of efficiency provided by TIBCO BusinessWorks is really 2nd to none. The integration process is faster / more
efficient than other integration technologies like Oracle Fusion Middleware or SAP XI or WebMethods or IBM MQ or Microsoft Biztalk. Now there are some new leaders available like Dell Boomi, Mulesoft, Pega. Only time will tell how good are those productions when you compare with a very stable product like TIBCO BW.
Products like TIBCO BusinessWorks are designed to simplify the integration of multiple systems by facilitating data mapping between endpoints. It is very effective indeed. It's mapping capabilities compared to other integration products is 2nd to none. The most important aspect is the ease of use.
Currently we use out-of-the-box designer testing features to do the unit test by the developers. Sometimes, we use SOAP UI for the system testing purpose as well. And in integration testing and performance testing, LISA is being used along with other testing software. I can't determine if there is any testing tool with which BW can't be tested.
Listed above are some middleware products, but it's not correct if we say how TIBCO BusinessWorks stacks up against them and why you selected TIBCO BusinessWorks. Rather, it should be other way around. They all are competing with TIBCO, they all know TIBCO is the most stable integration software in the market, so they all have to show why should the customers opt for them against the most reliable - TIBCO.
Like I said before TIBCO BusinessWorks is very well suited for any types of integration and any types of domain whether it is telecom or finance or manufacturing or logistics or travel or healthcare etc. If you want your end to end transactions to be completed in milliseconds, then go for TIBCO BusinessWorks. If you want efficient workflow management, another TIBCO product is there to help e.g., AMX BPM or iProcess. I can't determine really any scenario where TIBCO BusinessWorks is less appropriate.
