Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Spotfire
We started last year looking for a tool to present huge amounts of data in a meaningful way to our investors. As electricity markets generate a lot of data, having a tool that helps to simplify part of the processing of information was one KPI. On the other hand, having a way to create visually appealing reports that are easy to follow and understand was the second main goal. With Spotfire, you can create dashboards that plug into the data sources making live reports that update automatically. These can be online for everyone to see or sent via private links with the report of interest. The visuals are stunning and clear to our investors so they can follow up from one report to another. We thought that the price was high at first, but having tried and used the software, we can say it’s worth the price and for a data-intensive job it is a great companion.

Spotfire has stunning visuals; it looks modern and fresh and lets you have nice online features on your webpage that don’t look like [they are from] 1997. It also lets you program specific reports handling the data using other languages like R, so it can be integrated with other tools that generate data and create the reports. With automatic features, the workflow gets easier and you can have different access and levels of security and role specific login, so you can create specific reports with meaningful data for each user instead of having them search for what is useful in a huge report.

After ending an online course we were able to use most of the software features an create dashboards in a few minutes, to be able to use all the features it took a few months
For now, we only use Spotfire. Integrated with some databases and other products, maybe in the future, we will try other TIBCO solutions.
