Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

Before buying new development tools (Visual Studio & Telerik components) I went to TrustRadius to check user reviews and see if there are any known issues and find out what the overall impression is with those tools. The decision to purchase these tools was fully mine and reviews helped me to make my decision. (Btw, I purchased both products.)
  • To confirm my decision
  • To see what other users think of the product I am currently using
I already knew these tools, but in the end it was important to understand what other users are doing with them and to see if there are any reported issues. Reading different reviews enabled a better understanding of the products. Finally, a check of reviews helped me make decision. Both products were purchased and they are used frequently if not daily. I even left some reviews related to them with the hope that they will help other visitors.
When checking reviews I am initially going to reviews with low ratings, as usually I know products (I have already tried them) and my goal is for those "bad" reviews to reveal something that might impact me later with usage. Of course, as there might be some "angry" users those bad reviews are not really deal-breakers (as long as bad reviews are not the majority). As a second step I'll check medium level reviews and then totally positive ones. All in all, target is to make a bit better picture before making a decision to purchase something.
Clearly the main benefit is connecting to other people's experience with products. On one side it helps me get a better perception about products, and on the other side it might help me to test and see if some of their experiences are applicable in my case.
  • I also write reviews. Might be a weird comment but I trust that other reviews are properly written, like in my case. I want to share my experience to help others like they are helping me.
  • You can quickly find the good and bad about a product, which can help in making a decision.
  • Site is easy to use with plenty of products already reviewed so I can maybe call it my "single place of truth."
  • Extend products' dataset even more...
  • Check if some regular bloggers might provide their reviews also.
  • Not really a lot to add here.
Internet (different search engines), forums where products are discussed, sites of product vendors, sometimes support questions to product companies. The point with them is that they are isolated, so research might take some time, where with TrustRadius I can quickly find a lot of reviews without a lot of effort. At the end of the day it is about the efficiency that I get with TrustRadius.
Like mentioned in previous question - I am more efficient with TrustRadius compared to the other sites, and as I am also leaving reviews I do trust that majority of reviews are based on real experience that can be shared.
Well, reviews really helped in making some decisions (in the end, decisions that were positive for vendors :)). Using TrustRadius I got insights into other people's experiences - people who had the same questions I did. It is really about sharing what you know, but at the same time also getting something from it as other people are doing the same.
As I know why and how I am preparing my own reviews (to help others) and as I know that reviews here helped me make decisions I can only recommend TrustRadius to other buyers. Btw, I am recommending TrustRadius to my colleagues to have a look here before making any decisions. Basically my recommendations are that they should use TrustRadius if they are searching for something and not only if they already know a product and need to make decision to purchase it.
