Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

We were looking to purchase new software to help us automate processes within the business, so RPA software. I was asked to research and review some software and used TrustRadius as an initial investigation to review how other users had got on with a variety of tools before making further enquiries with specific companies. It was my role to acquire and try out a variety of tools from different providers. Operations managers and procurement were involved for sign off and security procedures. Ultimately we settled on UiPath.
  • In-depth reviews.
  • Wide variety of tools from different business areas.
  • You can usually always find somebody in the same role to find out how they got on with software.
  • Reviews are vetted and constructive rather than just an outpouring of dissatisfaction or false praise.
  • Maybe some video reviews, in-depth questions with actual users.
  • Open forums to ask users how they found it.
  • Follow up reviews. After a year how are you finding it, do you still use it? Etc.
Vendors have been quite clear about licensing costs and upfront costs in my experience. I have yet to find a scenario where it has been withheld. If information on pricing was difficult to obtain or unclear, then I would be happy to take my business elsewhere, as initial impressions, including pricing, matter.
TrustRadius looks cleaner, it’s easier to use and the website puts the data in more manageable chunks. I found Gartner to be lacking in information sometimes, like the review wasn’t vetted and G2 didn’t have quite the breadth of software that TrustRadius has.
I believe anything above a 7 out of 10 is a good score. There’s always room for improvement and there always should be! The initial rating impacts me looking further in-depth, but I prefer the written sections as this is where you can find out if it meets your needs or not.
The biggest challenge I faced was getting access to the software to trial it. Very few were willing to give me hands off access or access to a test environment. Preferring to give directed shows with preset examples. I find little value in these as obviously these prepared examples work. To me, being given access to software to use as you see fit shows trust in the product and makes me happier to proceed.
In-depth information on a wide variety of business areas and specialties. You know the information is reliable and written by people in a similar situation with similar experience, which really matters. Easy to read and simple to understand people’s opinion and get a quick oversight but also enough information available should you require a deep dive.
