Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

We recently made the switch from ADP to Ultimate. It was the BEST decision we could have made! We have consolidated from multiple systems to one system and reduced labor costs using automated workflows and we are tracking more data to provide better management decisions. Our supervisors and managers have more information at their fingertips. Employees have the ability to change/update information; however, human
resources has the ultimate decision on what is changed through an approval process (i.e. if an employee moves across state lines an address update would require approval due to the change in tax jurisdictions). You have the ability to decide which changes employees can make with and without approvals. Also from recruiting to onboarding there is no duplicate data entry! The data employees enter in recruiting, before they are hired, flows through to onboarding and into core when an employee is hired. No more having employees fill out paperwork just to have human resources type the data into the system and all of the paperwork is stored electronically.
  • Customer support is second to none. Ultimate has a case system where I can create a case and I don’t have to call at all if I don’t want. However, if I want to call, I can call my Customer Success Manager to answer all of my questions. I don’t have to press 1 for payroll and 2 for time and attendance, etc. There is also a team of experts that can help and if things still aren’t getting done and if all else fails we can call our Executive Relationship Manager to escalate our issues. On a side note, I have not had to call Mary, our Customer Success Manager, often; however, she has picked up the phone every time I have called. She answers directly without a phone tree or answering service.
  • Very robust custom reporting. You can write a report using all data in Ultimate including user defined fields and external data sources like an Excel spreadsheet. You can write all of these custom formulas, create graphs, schedule outputs and so much more in Ultimate’s custom reporting. I create a report and only need to log back in if I need to make changes. The reports create all of the graphs based on my custom formulas to provide the data I need without additional manipulation and run on the intervals that I set when I created the report and are delivered to my e-mail or people I designate.
  • Payroll automation, i.e. Co-Efficient OT Look Back, Retroactive Pay, Multi-Jurisdiction taxation, Don't have to re-run the entire pay group to recalculate a single employee's gross to net and numerous others!
  • This is a tough question for me as I have not found anything to really complain about. The only thing that comes to mind for me recently was when I was working on the Year-End check list: I wished they had a list of items had been limited to only those items that applied to us. It really wasn’t a big deal and I added it as an enhancement request. Usually when you think of these things other users are too and you add them to the online user community where users vote on upcoming enhancement requests. Almost everything I have wanted over the last year has already been incorporated into the software!

Yes, we have achieved all of the outcomes we were seeking by switching to UltiPro: improved customer service, consolidation from multiple systems, employee self service, automate workflows, reduced payroll processing time, better reporting, more accurate data, elimination of dual data entry from multiple systems and from paper to system, electronic open enrollment, interfaces that transmit data directly to our benefits administrators, etc.

UltiPro is the best product on the market. Other vendors only have a fraction of the functionality. Other vendors do not have anywhere near the support team that UltiPro has.
I am not sure of any scenario where UltiPro would not be well suited. It is a fantastic robust software that can do anything you might imagine you want payroll/human capital management software to do.
