Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Data Center Backup and Recovery
It is being used as our primary and only backup system.
- When properly "tweaked" it is set it and forget it.
- Automatically "sees" all possible assets to backup on your network.
- Seamless backup from the local appliance to the cloud.
- Support is very responsive but not very informative.
- EXTREMELY difficult product to learn and administer.
- Software is very touchy and it will cease backing up assets for reasons unknown and it doesn't notify you that it did so.
- IMO, the product requires dedicated personnel to set up, administer and monitor.
- I've never found a solution in the Knowledge Base or Community - I always have to resort to logging a support call.
- Negative impact because far too much time has to be devoted to making sure the product is doing what it is supposed to be doing.

I selected Unitrends because it was promised to be a low maintenance, set it and forget it solution. It is anything but.
