Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for AWS

Finally, we have a global data protection strategy that simply works as we wish. In terms of operations, we bring four main points: 1. No more shadow costs linked to data protection policies; 2. Apps migration to AWS is no longer a bottleneck with the VUL model; 3. A clean main overview of our data protection strategy; 4. VB4AWS is a module of Veeam's main composable solution, so you can integrate different technologies into a unified view.

It's hard to manage and maintain, and there is no integration with on-prem tooling. There is very poor support and lower effort on external integration. I feel like I should use an open-source solution while paying for an enterprise product. There is tricky debugging in case of problems, and some operations still need manual workarounds to be achieved. I need to improve, but I feel the product owner has no clue about backup lifecycle needs and behavior.

Veeam for AWS is great if you need complete control in a multi-account environment. It leverages the automation part with operations and is extremely open to other technologies through its API REST integration HTTP method. This product focuses on the leading technologies used in the enterprise industry market. I think Veeam is less appropriate if you think of provisioning your workloads on a complete serverless cloud solution.

Finally, we could define a real scenario and role definition assignment. It is no longer a taboo for us. Leveraging the definition of rights, we dramatically increased our reaction regarding operations.
Cause is fully integrated with all Cloud Environments.
The main point of this solution is that it is modular and independent. Each component is consistent and able to orchestrate operations across each module.
