Use Cases and Deployment Scope

With Micrsosoft not providing a true back and recovery solution, especially for long term restores, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 allow us to get a backup of our whole 365 environment and store it locally as well as keep another copy in cloud-based storage apart from 365. This covers compliance concerns and allows us long-term retention of data and the ability to restore any of that data as needed for auditing or to recover data that was deleted or lost for any reason.

very easy to configure and use -especially if you already use Veeam B&R

official support for GCC HIGH - it's only beta now, although it does work

Return on Investment

Backups are always valuable and the cost per user is low. If you are in an industry that requires various compliances it's well worth it.
I haven't needed to use it much, but when I have it's done it's job.

It's pretty much set it and forget it.

A sharepoint site thought to be unneeded was deleted. I couldn't just bring the Teams site back because the emails address had already been reused. I used Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to restore the old sharepoint files to a different site.

If you need a way to back up your 365 data since Microsoft even tells you that you shouldn't rely on their recovery tools as backup, this fits the bill nicely. I allows you to complete your DR strategy and meet regulatory requirement that you may have. It's simple and once setup requires almost zero management. It just does it's thing.
